Bread and Butter

AntiVJ is an umbrella title for a group of European artists who are focused on the play of light and what it means in relation to our space. One of the artists Joanie Le Mercier was a panellist at onedotzero. Something that he said resonated with me. He spoke of his starting out in projection mapping. In student digs in Bristol he bought a cheap projector from ebay (as have I) and mapped a house (as have I). These humble beginnings which mirror my own have led to Joanie being part of an international VJ label. After the talk I felt inspired by Le Mercier’s journey. The majority of their work are from arts commissions and I admire the labels ethos to stay true to the art.
